Our Structure

Rivers of Life is a Church organized after the pattern of Apostolic Order. The Church has been called to make the transition into a Kingdom Order.

We are called:

To usher in the Kingdom of Christ and yield to Him as our first and final authority.  We do not seek to follow the pattern of any other church.  We believe God has called Rivers of Life to be distinct, a “designer’s original.” We aggressively and passionately follow on to know His “unique plan for us.”

Corporately:

We recognize that God has given the five-fold ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13) to His corporate body for the purpose of government, direction and edification.  When Christ ascended He divided His mantle or anointing among these five offices.  The apostle and prophet are “foundational gifts” that “govern” and “guide” the Church.  They relate what God “is saying” to this generation.  The evangelist, pastor, and the teacher make up the balance of the five-fold ministry which extends as the guiding, equipping hand of God.

 Locally:
In our local house we are organized after the pattern of the set man, elders, deacons and church body.
The “set man” is the shepherd, overseer, or “father” over the house (see Numbers 27:16-17).  The elders serve the set man to promote and facilitate his vision for the house.  The deacons serve the body and assist the set man and elders of the house.  The Bible ideal is that through the empowerment from five-fold ministry and the influence of Godly leadership that the members be trained to minister to one another (1 Corinthians 12:25).
